Ananda Shankar - A battle with cancer

 I suddenly find out that I have cancer. It was all over. During treatment, I became giddy. It was all painful. But I did not let disappointment dominate me. I also used to go to dance studio during treatment. Dance gave me strength, to fight cancer. Hard times make you feel your inner strength. I told myself that cancer is not the end of my life, just a chapter. And I conquered cancer. Ananda Shankar is a well-known classical dancer of the country. He has received several big national awards including Padma Shri. She got breast cancer in the year 2008. On receiving this news, there was disappointment among his fans.  Deepika was born in a small village named Ratuchatti, about 12 km from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Father Shiva Narayan Prajapati first worked as a laborer, later started running a tampo. He had neither his own farm nor garden. But Deepika liked the fruits of others in the garden. Whenever there was a chance, she would hit the mangoes on the trees and hit the ground.  The parents did not like their mischief at all. There was a lot of scolding, but it did not have much effect on Deepika. A father struggling with poverty and scarcity wanted his daughter to become self-sufficient by studying and writing.
